MSM have successfully carried out a high quality refurbishment project at The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn, to convert the former Waterfall Suite into a luxurious self-contained two-storey events space, now known as the Verina Suite. This is the second major project in recent years that MSM has delivered on this prestigious hotel, originally constructed in the 17th century. The new events space comprises a banqueting suite for hosting weddings, conferences and private events at lower level, with a casual lounge area at upper level. The key architectural design feature is a curved marble staircase linking the two floor levels.
Stripping out works and structural alterations were carried out before commencing the interior fit-out phase. Works included curved ceilings, plaster cornicing, timber panelling, walnut doors, solid flooring and polished stone surfaces. High specification M&E installations include state-of-the-art mood lighting and audio-visual technologies.
Works commenced on-site during January 2015 and were completed within a restricted 16-week timescale. The work areas were segregated to enable the hotel to remain in full operation during the construction period.
