MSM were awarded the contract to construct a new single-storey Subway restaurant unit with a drive-thru including site development works. This development would be the first drive-thru Subway on the island of Ireland.
The works were located on a vacant site off the busy Boucher Road at the rear of a KFC drive-thru restaurant which continued to trade throughout the construction period.
Key elements to the works involved
- Removal of existing services and constructing a 900mm re-aligned storm sewer and precast concrete headwall discharging into adjacent watercourse
- Mini piling operation following confirmation of existing drain locations
- Reinforced concrete pile caps and ground beams with reinforced concrete suspended floor slab
- Structural steel frame with precast concrete unit to lower roof
- Superstructure masonry infill walling
- Kingspan Standing seam roof including flashings
- Kingspan Micro-Rib wall cladding
- PPC Aluminium wall cladding to feature wall
- PPC Aluminium curtain walls, windows and doors
External Works involved
- Incoming mains utilities and site services
- Underground foul and storm drainage
- Site preparation including hardcore filing, geotextile membrane, kerbing surfacing and paving
- Installation of external furniture and perimeter fencing
