MSM Contracts successfully completed a fast-tracked, 18-week refurbishment project, transforming an existing double-height IT teaching and study space into a two-level Student Services and Support Centre.
The project was delivered seamlessly within a live educational environment, ensuring minimal disruption. The upgraded space now includes a welcoming reception area, open-plan office space, private meeting rooms and offices, as well as a shared seating and relaxation area.
Key highlights of the project:
• Removal and replacement of existing mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, with protection of live systems
• Internal strip-out and demolition, including new window openings and façade modifications
• Construction of a mezzanine floor to maximize space
• Ground floor enhancements: timber stud partitions with plasterboard lining and skim finish
• Mezzanine improvements: metal stud partitions with drylined plasterboard
• Installation of suspended ceilings, including feature raft ceilings
• Custom internal furniture: reception desk, wall units, cupboards, worktops, and storage
• Installation of acoustic wall panels for noise control
• Replacement of M&E systems and installation of a platform lift
• Construction of a new entrance lobby and associated drainage work
