MSM were awarded this contract by our client, Creations Interiors, to convert the former News Letter offices into an impressive two-storey retail unit. Following project handover, Creations Interiors have been able to transfer their operations from a nearby store in Shane Retail Park to this 23,000ft2 retail unit, situated in a prominent location on Boucher Crescent.
This project, designed by McAdam Stewart Architects, required stripping out and partial demolition works to be carefully executed to allow the integration of the existing structural steel frame and roof coverings into the new building design. A double-height extension to the building frontage creates a projected feature entrance and a newbuild two-storey rear extension provides additional floorspace. The building façade includes Kingspan Benchmark timber cladding, coloured render and combines a Kingspan Benchmark system with feature cassettes and APS Logic aluminium curtain walling to the feature entrance.
A complete internal fit-out was carried out by MSM under this contract involving M&E services, interior surface finishes, architectural metalwork and internal fixtures and fittings. During the contract, a client design change to provide a future café area was successfully co-ordinated between the design team and MSM. External works included formation of a customer car park, paved areas, perimeter fencing and installing stainless steel bollards.
