Major refurbishment works continue apace to convert the former 8-storey Lancashire House office building into the new Linen Hotel in Belfast city-centre. In recent weeks, we have completed the erection of MSM branded scaffold sheeting to enclose the building.
On completion, the Linen Hotel located on the junction between Linenhall Street and James Street South will provide extended hotel facilities to the adjacent 4 star Ten Square Hotel.
Construction works commenced during May 2016 with works completed to-date including:
– asbestos removal
– stripping out interior finishes; removal of windows and cladding
– internal demolitions and structural modifications to reconfigure the internal floor space including removal of two internal stairwells
Works are currently progressing to construct two internal lift shafts and stairwell within the building footprint and construction of infill floor slabs where the internal stairwells have been removed. Fit-out works on the ground to third floor levels and works to the building envelope will commence shortly.
The design team on this project are Coogan & Co (architects), BCD Partnership (structural engineer) and F M Stewart & Associates (services consultant).
We will be posting further progress updates on this exciting Belfast city-centre hotel project as we near completion of phase 1 in Autumn 2016.
